The Reliance Hose Co #1 is a Volunteer Fire / Rescue / 24hr EMS Department located in Middleburg, Pennsylvania, the county seat of Snyder County. The department operates as an all volunteer Fire/Rescue department. Our Fire/Rescue service operates 2 Engines, 1 Heavy Rescue, which is the only Rescue located in the entire county, 1 3000gal Tanker, and a Brush/Wildland Fire vehicle. The department operates a 24 hour EMS service, which consists of a 24 hour, 365 day a year ALS service / MICU, and volunteer BLS ambulance service. Our EMS service consists of 3 ALS / BLS equipped vehicles. Annually the department handles 1500+ calls for service a year, and responds to 5 neighboring counties on 1st alarm, and has 1st & 2nd due ALS / EMS service.
